Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM
9. Ghosting and flares
The Canon 70-200 f/4L didn’t achieve good results working in bright light. It is possible that the 1999 construction – optimized for analog cameras – had problems with the anti-reflexive coatings. We don’t know if this is true, but the good news is that Canon’s designers did something about it. The stabilization version of the lens has some light artifacts, but they are much smaller. In brief, it is not an ideal situation, but there is progress.
