- small, handy and with good fastness at the same time,
- excellent image quality in the frame centre, including the maximum relative aperture,
- good image quality at the edge of the frame,
- chromatic aberration well-corrected,
- good work against bright light,
- accurate autofocus.
Cons:
- high distortion,
- significant vignetting.
This summary will be very short. Of all the lenses designed for mirrorless cameras (not including rangefinder optics) I like the Panasonic 1.7/20 the best. It is small, handy, fast and very sharp at all apertures. You can hardly ask for more. One fault you can find with it is the price if you buy it separately. As a part of a camera-and-lens set the purchase of this “pancake” looks far more sensible, though. The price of 330 $ is actually quite high but on the other hand if you compare it with the price of, say, a manual Voigtlander Ultron 2/40 you might find out that the Panasonic is cheaper…
