Cons: Not to sharp @f/1.8, cheap looking and feeling.

Pros: Very good image quality from f/4, cheap wide aparture lens

Summary: Today I'd choose 35mm 1.8, but it wasn't made yet when I bought this lens

Cons: Plastic build. Busy bokeh rendition compared to other 50s.

Pros: Very affordable. Small and light.

Summary: There is no reason not to buy this lens if bugdet is a priority. But there are other 50s are superior in terms of sharpness, bokeh, build and AF.

Cons: Plastic feeling. It is just a feeling, no real problems occured as per of its build quality. A bit useless angle of view on DX, but it is a matter of personal preferences.

Pros: Small, light. It has metal mount. Except of plastic feeling it is a good quality lens - I use id for 2 years and nothing has hapend to it. Amazingly sharp. It has a depth of field scale.

Summary: It is best used as short portrait lens. For other purposes it might be too long. This is one of the lenses I allways carry with me.
