Overall, taking into account a wide range of offered angles of view and the complexity of optics (as many as 28 air-to-glass surfaces), the Samyang deals well with the performance against bright light. There is just one exception to that rule. When you put the sun right outside a frame corner, especially at the longer end of the focal spectrum, and you stop the lens down, you can catch a really nasty flare that is able to overexpose the majority of the frame.
Mainly because of this effect the performance in this category should be described as medium at the most.
