Price: 120 USD
User profile: Professional
Cons: discontinued Would be nice if it was a f4 constant
Pros: Long zoom range lens that is sharp for its range. Since it has a long zoom its relatively light at 500+ grams
Summary: Very big focal range. I like tamron rendering see it as superior to nikons. I disagree that its better built than the 28-75 2.8. That lens is pro grade tough. This one is a pros 24-105 but trades a constant aperature for a variable. It\'s ok, makes the lens more affordable and honestly sharper. It is plenty sharp for a long zoom. Under studio conditions it is only softer in the tele end like all zooms and only if pixel peeping. Who am I kidding, this lens is near 70-200 range sharp. Give it 4.5 stars!!

Cons: Lots of plastic. If dropped or something, it would be a bugger to tinker with.
Pros: It is wider than all my other 24mm primes and zooms. My old sl/N rejected the preloaded profile and made it a 23-135. It is 36mp worthy.
Summary: Excellent value for just about every aspect. It is a perfect fit on an old D3.

Cons: not really
Pros: sharp, good range, good Image Quality, nice bokeh, well built, relatively cheap
Summary: This lens has an amazing focal range to cover. It is very sharp from 24 to 40mm, & sharp for the rest of the range - surprisingly so - even wide open. Contrast is plentiful, while distortions & CA are subdued. The lens weighs in with the 28-75mm 2,8 Tamron, but it is bulit better than the 28-75. Lots of metal - no zoom creep - nice focus ring. It offers good close-focus capabilities too.
