4. Summary

When it comes to the Art series Sigma lenses, I really appreciate their build quality. The latest constructions of that line are very solidly build. Sigma is perhaps one of the last producers that still manufacture their optics in their own Japanese factory and is able to control quality in a way unavailable for many of its direct rivals. It does make a difference. Sigma's top range lenses are practically armoured, all rings and switches moving like a dream. Our sample shots show that the new lens will be a worthy Art line device, with a high image quality up from the maximum relative aperture.

In case of the Sigma A 20 mm f/1.4 DG DN you see a continuation of Sigma's innovation process. You should remember that it's a company that presented the 20 mm f/1.8 as first and then they launched this lens model but only faster, with an aperture of f/1.4. As you see they have been continuing that pioneering work in a field of mirrorless system lenses; why, they even go one step further by constructing a lens that is physically lighter, allows you to use ordinary filters at the front, additional filters at the back, and features functionalities very useful in astrophotography too.

Sample images show that the new lens will be a worthy representative of the Art line and its image quality will be high up from the maximum relative aperture.
