User profile: Semipro
Cons: Fairly heavy and takes a wide (72mm) filter. I noticed some variability on focus at long distances. Slightly less resolution at long end.
Pros: In practice, this lens achieves a much better performance than expected (in terms of uncorrected resolution and aberration). Flat test charts up to A0 are useful but in this case, I think they do not represent real-life usage. DPReview mention something too along the same lines for this lens. It is not unusual, over the years I have had outstanding lenses that do not measure well up close. In context, I also own the 18 f/1.4 WR, 23 f/1.4WR, 50 f/2 WR and 90 f/2 WR, all of which are amazing optics.
Summary: Happy to use this as a walk-around lens when I do not want to be burdened by lens changes, without feeling that I am compromising too heavily between convenience and performance. The IS comes in handy when used with no IBIS bodies too.
