Sigma A 35 mm f/1.4 DG II

1. Introduction

A cassic journalistic 35 mm device is usually an apple of the eye of every producer. As a result this class of equipment typically features a lot of launches with aperture fastness ranging from f/2.8 to f/1.2. Additionally, it seems optics engineers fall over themselves to introduce the best and the most expensive solutions available on the market.

Japanese Sigma is not an exception to this rule. Already in the era of full frame mirrorless devices they had a range of launches. Everything started in 2019 with a forceful presentation of the A 35 mm f/1.2 DG DN. Soon afterwards, in December 2020, we saw a smaller, ligher C 35 mm f/2 DG DN, belonging to the Contemporary series. In 2021 their line-up was enlarged by another Art series instrument, the A 35 mm f/1.4 DG DN.

Sigma A 35 mm f/1.4 DG II - Introduction

Lately Sigma decided that it was time for another launch of a successor of such lenses. In September 2025 we saw the Sigma A 35 mm f/1.2 DG II and in February 2026 the Sigma A 35 mm f/1.4 DG II. We have already tested the first of these models and now the time has come to check how the second one will fare.
