Canon EF 55-200 mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM

3. Build quality

The Canon 55-200 mm is on the small side and is quite light. In its recessed position (at 55 mm) it doesn’t take up too much space and fits well with the camera body. The whole set is very comfortable to hold.

There are lots of plastic elements in the lens’s body, which doesn’t make a good first impression. The lens’s bayonet is plastic as well.

The lens consists of 13 lenses set up in 13 groups. The lens is equipped with a USM motor, which makes the zooming process fast and generally quiet.
