10. Autofocus

The set of an E-3 reflex camera and a lens, equipped with an SWD motor, was supposed to have the quickest autofocus available on the market. It’s true, the autofocus motor in the ZD 12-60 mm works silently and at blinding speed. Is it significantly quicker than the Canon lenses with a USM and the Nikkors with an SWM on new bodies, though? Rather not, but certainly it is not worse either.

We express no reservations about the motor’s accuracy too- in studio conditions it missed in 2.7% of cases and had no backfocus or frontfocus tendencies.
