6. Distortion

Not so long ago, while testing the Pentax 4/15, we praised that lens for good distortion correction. We hoped that the 3.2/21 model, with a narrower angle of view, would fare even better in this category, especially that the competition here is fierce; it is due to the fact that zoom lenses, starting from 16-18 mm and showing a big “barrel” there, get zero distortion exactly near 20-24 mm. The Pentax 3.2/21 surprised us in an unpleasant way, though. The distortion is perhaps not very bothersome, reaching the level of –2.14%, but taking into account the focal length of the lens we wish its value were definitely lower.
