Cons: - The fast zoom of the lens works like a air pump, making the lens very prominent to suck dust to the inside. - big pieces of dust in the internal focus lenses and lens close to the aperture can be visible starting F/11; - The internal construction is very tight and associated with the weight and internal metal construction making the lens prominent to easy damage in a fall; - the focus could be a smoother and thicker / solid; - To heavy for D3xxx Bodies
Pros: + Superzoom lens + relatively compact + well balanced with D7xxx bodies
Summary: The optics is not particulary amazing but its good lens for general use particularly good for travelling and photos that don't require super sharpness. Better that the average superzoom lens but not as good as some of the most recent models.

Cons: Zoom creep. A bit soft when zoomed. Contrast could be better, especially when zoomed.
Pros: You never miss a shot! AF is impressively fast A great workhorse A lot of fun to use VR does wonders.
Summary: This lens has been my workhorse on a D40 and D90. It's a great lens and I've taken some 30.000 shots with it. It's still working like new. The versatility quality of this lens is what makes it so great and useful. It doesn't do magic, though. I personally find it better in the wide angle range than in the tele, but if you think about it, this is just the way a super zoom should be: After all, this is a lens you'll be using to take photos of children, friends and things you want to remember. That said, however I have used it with great success for motorsports. And if you think about the superzoom is also perfect here, especially if you're on the "beer side of the fence", where I take as many (or more?) photos of people and cars in the pits than I take of the action on the track. And where you can't always plan. After all, that's where the real fun is :-)

Cons: Using in dark/semi-dark environments
Pros: great all round travel lens
Summary: Wow, some criticisms!!! It is what it is i.e. a super zoom with impressive performance. My tip would be to travel with an 18-200 Nikkor and either a 35mm dx 1.8g for low light, or alternatively an AF-S 50mm 1.4G which works as a great portrait lens on a APC/DX set up and low light combo. Either coupled with the 18-200 is a killer travel combo INHO. Don't criticise what it doesn't do when compared to fast primes, but respect if for what it can do that a prime can't. Happy shooting :)

Cons: - one stop down for sharpnes, not very good at 200mm - expensive
Pros: - very flexible - best superzoom on the market for Nikon
Summary: very good for vacation if you wont carry much weight around

Cons: Sharpness is mediocre between about 70 and 135mm. Heavy distortions at 18mm, even worse than those at the 18-70mm (can be partially removed by CaptureNX if you're shooting NEFs). Rather low contrast at 200mm (but doesn't bother me). Expensive. In many cases stopping down necessary for best results.
Pros: Build quality is okay. Excellent in situations if you are pressured for time and cannot change lenses. Sharpness is very okay up to about 100mm, AF is fast and accurate, VR works fine. Only rare problems with backlight. Good contrast at most focal lengths.
Summary: You have to know if you need this lens -- and how to use it. If you don't need the aditional reach, the 18-105 or 16-85 may be the (optically) better choices. For me, the lens has fulfilled my expectations.

Cons: Poor sharpness , sharp only at wide angel at F8 or F11.
Pros: none.
Summary: I hate my lens.I have it but i never use it since i got 50mm fix .18-200 mm is chrap lens.even in situations where you dont have time to change lenses is better to have on good lens in one focal lenght than bad 18-200. If you bought that lens sell it as soon as you can.

Cons: You need to stop the lens down to get good sharpness other than that it really is very good, needs some light tho.
Pros: Light, great versatility, even the bokeh is acceptable, vr works very well, fast auto focus.Actually this lens gives you shots you would have missed otherwise, with it on you always get the shot.
Summary: fast auto focus, vr, sharp when stopped down, covers alot.
