Overall
Owner since: more than 10 years
Price: 2000
User profile: Semipro
Cons: Ugly, complex mustache distortion at 28mm. Warm color cast. Squeaky motor after 10 years. Heavy and clumsy.
Pros: Extremely fast AF. Beautiful rendering. ACR distortion profiles are effective.
Summary: Probably not as good as the newer 24-70 lenses, but still great. Fantastic on the D810.
Overall
Owner since: 6 months
Price: 750
User profile: Amateur
Cons: Heavy lens. Too heavy for carriyng on trekkings trips. Limited range 28mm-70mm. I would have prefer 24 to 90mm.
Pros: Good construction. fast and accurate autofocus, well equilibrated on a D700 or D800 Very sharp optics perfect for shooting at weeddings or any family event. Nice Bokeh
Summary: My best lens for shooting family events.
