Owner since: more than 10 years
Price: 650 DM

Cons: All plastics, would not last for eternity
Pros: Very good image quality
Summary: I had bought this one before it got a "D" at the end of its name but it's the same lens. I shot it on F501, F801, D200, D800E and adapted it to Sony NEX 7. With any camera I got wonderfull close up pictures. I rarely tried it as a normal 60 mm lens since I have no need for this focal length for non-macro pics. After 20 years the plastic notches of the aperture ring are worn and plastic debris fell into the barrel. I sent it to Nikon service, they cleaned it and removed the debris without charge but did not replace the aperture ring. It doesn't stop anymore precisely but at modern Nikons the aperture is set by the camera. So the lens still works.
