Lens review

Carl Zeiss Otus 85 mm f/1.4

9. Ghosting and flares

The tested lens’s performance against bright light is very sensible especially that in this category its task was hardly easy. Not only you deal here with as many as 18 air-to-glass surfaces reflecting light but also the Otus features a big front element, almost not covered at all. You can catch some small flares and notice overall contrast decrease but it is not easy to do so; anyway these effects can hardly be called bothersome.
