9. Ghosting and flares

So far, out of all testing categories the vignetting performance of the tested lens seemed to be the weakest. Still, taking into account the parameters of the tested lens we didn’t expect very good results. When it comes to the work against bright light our expectations were higher and the reality check let us seriously down. Perhaps the results are not exceptionally bad as the lens features a very complex optical system and we still don’t know anything about the influence the organic BR coating might have on the flares but it would be really difficult to praise the lens for anything in this category. The fact that even with the sun situated far from the frame you can still catch light artifacts in your photos we find especially painful.
