Performance against bright light in case of the Apo Lanthar is not bad but it also cannot be called perfect. You can catch light artifacts no matter whether the sun is situated inside the frame or a bit outside. After a more significant stopping down you experience a bit more problems.
So far in all testing categories the Voigtlander has managed to defeat its rivals or at least its results were comparable. Performance against bright light is an area, however, where the tested lens fares weaker than some of its competitors, and we think here especially about Sony lenses. Instruments like the FE 1.8/35, the FE 2.5/40G, and the FE 1.4/35 GM showed that even with such angles of view you can deal with ghosting and flares better.
