When it comes to the performance against bright light the Nikkor Z 35 mm f/1.4 doesn't provide any serious reasons to complain. Most of problems you can notice when the sun is situated relatively close to the frame centre and such situations with this type of equipent are few and far between. When the source of light is moved toward the frame corner, the number and intensity of flares decrease significantly. All problems end practically completely with moving the sun right outside the frame corner.
It's worth adding that there are no distinct contrast losses; even with the source of bright light in the frame the images are correctly contrasted.
