Overall
Owner since: 2 years
Price: 150 €
User profile: Amateur
Cons: Picture quality: poor sharpness and resolution. Slow open blend
Pros: solid build
Summary: This lens came as a bundle with the NEX7, the single body wasn't available at this time. I never found it much helpful and as soon as the Sony/Zeiss Sonar 24/1.8 was launched this zoom found a new home in a drawer. The price was low but it doesn't count if you're not satisfied with the quality. I never understood why Sony first launched the wunderful NEX7 with a lens like that.

Cons: electronic MF ring, slow, focal range
Pros: OSS works well, AF is fast and silent, descent IQ
Summary: as a kitlens it was a no brainer, still relatively compact and therefor very usefull for everyday useage, nice build quality outside though all plasticy inside
