Cons: Rather big as you use it as a walk around zoom.
Pros: IQ, IS, price and the most beautiful bokeh I know for a standard zoom. Better then most primes.
Summary: If I could chose between the Canon 24-70 F2.8 L mark II and this zoom, I chose the Tamron. Even that the Canon cost twice as much. I love this zoom, I love the IS and the beautiful bokeh is for me no reason to take some fast primes instead. Absolute stunning!

Cons: A little bit soft at focal length 50. Could have been faster, although it matters only if you are interested in sport shots. Stabilization seems to devour a lot of battery.
Pros: Excelent optical quality, in my opinion better than Nikon's 24-70 2.8G lens, with the latter slighty better only in the corners at 70/f2.8. Stabilization really works. Well built. Perfect sharpness, good contrast, good colours (anyway, I prefer Canon's color rendition than Nikons).
Summary: With a quality at least of Nikon's top lenses, Tamron costs 1/3 or even 1/2 less. The choice is really easy.

Pros: at such a high price I expect high sharpness still with open lens up to the corners of image, But even with f 4,5 you get not real sharp corners on 28mm, Like the concurring product of Sigma double contures in the corners and too much CA's. Not to use for big posters whenn intend to shoot archtitecture
Summary: The price is enormous high for the qualilty of images. I compared this lens with my old cheap soligor 3,5-4,5/28-70. Contures of the old one are real sharp in the corners and CA's are very low, but not this lens. I regret:: this is a p o r t r a i t lens. If manufacturers like this brand would change their inner plastic elements(?) and put only glass therein, it would be much more better

Cons: Local service and backup in South Africa, the lense has to be sent to Japan. darkening of the corners on the Canon 1DX at f2.8 Focus acquisition not as fast as Nikkor 24-70mm (I own this lense for my Nikon bodies) Did not do well with White shirts on Video mode on the 1DX
Pros: Good Sharpness at f8 on th the 1DX I shot a very good Wedding Video, the day I bought the lense at f2.8 on the 1DX. For the price it is really good value not qute up to ther Nikkor 24-70 on the D4.
Summary: A fairly good lense for the price, I needed lense for a wedding I was shooting in the afternoon, there was no Canon 24-105 lenses available so I bought this lense. I have shot some landscapes with the 1Dx and a few portraits I an happy with the quality.
