Summary: Great lens. Not as quick AF as say 17/1.8, but still very quick and precise. Very sharp in focus and smooth out of focus. Feels a bit plasticky, but not cheap. Full retail price should have been a bit better, but got mine for free with body, so no complain.

Pros: Incredibly sharp wide open. Almost scary sharp if the subject has, say, rough skin. Amazingly small size and light in weight.

Summary: Really should have been weather sealed. The designers were overly focused on this as a studio lens.

Cons: Given this is the typical portrait length and you're going to use it a lot wide open, I expected to be a much better performer in this area. Performance wide open is good (not exceptional), sharp as long as you place you subject in the center but under certain circumstances a strange "glow" or "veiling" is clearly visible.

Pros: In any regard you couldn't really ask more from 2.8 onward
