In the case of the focusing mechanism, Canon can be easily praised. Ultrasonic USM motor, in this case, works magnificently. We get, then, a very fast work (we’re wondering, if Canon had decided to use a limiter, would the work be even faster), a quiet and what’s most important, accurate one. During our session in the studio the tested Canon didn’t record any misses! Let’s remember, that by a miss we understand a result whose resolution is over 20% worse than the maximum one obtained at a given aperture. What’s more, if we change this criterion for 10%, the number of misses will rise to… whole 1 %. The result is just stunning!

We didn’t observe any front- or back-focusing tendency.
