10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the tested lens is noiseless. Attached to the Olympus EPL1, which is among our editorial office equipment, it was also very quick. Running through the whole distance scale and focusing took it 0.4-0.5 of a second. The tested lens was even faster when joined with the Panasonic GH3 – we had an opportunity to use that camera as well. In that case the focusing time was shortened to just circa 0.3 of a second.

The accuracy of the mechanism is beyond reproach as well. When cooperating with the E-PL1 it missed in less than 2% of shots in studio conditions. Attached to the GH3 the number of misses decreased to practically zero.

The lens didn’t have any front or back focus tendency either.
