Until recently, Canon and Nikon almost exclusively dominated the digital SLR market. This situation started to change somewhat after other leading manufacturers, like Olympus, Pentax and Sony entered the fray. In fact, each of these three other manufacturers now offers sensor stabilization. While still not as efficient as the optical stabilization in the best lenses, these newest offers are certainly far more flexible and cheaper.

The two leading pioneers in the photographic market can still rest somewhat comfortably, knowing that they will enjoy stable sales of the products in their most expensive lens range, but can’t rest forever knowing that their competitors are always up to something in the lower price brackets. Nikon was the first of the two market leaders to enter the budget market sphere last year with its Nikkor AF-S DX VR 55-200 mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED lens, which costs less than 300 USD. Only six months later, Canon responded at the end of August with two cheap and stabilized lenses: the Canon EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4.0 -5.6 IS. We wrote about them previously and presented initial reviews following Canon's product release press conference. But now, thanks to Cyfrowe.pl, we are pleased to present the full test of Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4.0 -5.6 IS lens. Enjoy!
