Nikon Nikkor AF-S 70-300 mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR

9. Ghosting and flares

Anti-reflection coatings, used by the Nikon company, usually deal with unwanted flares very well. In the case of the Nikkor 70-300 VR we see the same good performance although its front element, being huge and unsheltered by anything, at first glance might have suggested some side lighting problems.

Weak artifacts can be noticed at 70 mm but on lengthening the focal length they disappear and the work becomes almost problem free.
