Pentax smc FA 43 mm f/1.9 Limited

8 May 2011

6. Distortion

The Pentax 1.9/43 gives a bit wider angle of view than classic 50 mm devices so it has a right to higher distortion. Indeed its level is higher than in the case of the Nikkor 1.8/50 but fortunately, it doesn’t become a serious problem because its value reaches only –0.85%. It’s worth reminding here that even a tad wider Voigtlander 2/40 showed a bit lower distortion value – that of –0.79%. The Pentax doesn’t impress here but you can’t have any serious reservations either.
