The astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 function values, amounted to 3.9% which we consider a low value. We didn’t notice any distinct differences of its correction between particular focal lengths.

Out-of-focus areas provided by the Tokina 16-28 mm aren’t bad for a zoom lens. Still examining defocused circles of light you can find a trace of ‘onion rings’ bokeh; apart from that, on stopping down the aperture they get a lighter rim.
