When you employ the smaller APS-C sensor the distortion shouldn’t be a big problem but you can’t say its level is completely invisible as you still have to deal with barrel deformation of −1.83%.

When you progress to full frame the distortion increases to −2.31%. As you see, the increase, compared to the level on the smaller sensor, is not big. Why? The appearance of moustache distortion that bends lines near the very edge of the frame, is responsible for that. When our measurements are limited to the 1:1 area you get a result of −3.1% so a value noticeably higher than the result averaged out across the frame.

These aren’t impressive results because when you compare them to those of the rivals they are clearly weaker. The Nikkor 1.8/20 for instance had distortion of −1.53%, and the level of the Sigma A 1.4/20 was −2.15%.
