Sigma A 50 mm f/1.4 DG DN

9. Ghosting and flares

After the vignetting slip-up you get a kind of consolation in a form of very good performance against bright light. The Sigma fares here as it befits a good quality optical instrument. It is really difficult to catch any reflections, they are very sporadic, and even if you do manage to catch them, light artifacts are not especially intensive. What's more, at all combinations of aperture value and sun position images inside the frame are very nicely contrasted.

Here the new model fares better than both the more expensive Sony and its predecessor.
