Astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 function values, amounted to 3.6%. It is a very low value so the lens should be praised once again.

When it comes to defocused circles of light, onion-ring bokeh is the first feature you notice. Small wonder, the tested Sigma has as many as three aspherical elements inside. Fortunately, you don't see any other unwated effects. Mechanical vignetting is distinct at the maximum relative aperture but it decreases noticeably by f/2.8 and disappears practically completely on stopping down by 2 EV.
