Chromatic aberration
As many as three low dispersion ED glass elements inside the construction of this lens mean that, by and large, the tested lens should correct longitudinal chromatic aberration quite well. The photo below proves that indeed there are practically no problems at all in this area. |
Now let's check the correction of lateral chromatic aberration – an appropriate graph you can find below.
The problems are negligible - on the edge of the full frame sensor the lens lands a tad below 0.04% and on the edge of the APS-C/DX sensor you brushes against 0.06%. Both these values are on the borderline of very low and low levels.

It's worth adding that these are results very similar to the results of the Tamron and, at the same time, slightly better than the respective results of the Sony. Still the Sigma is able to defeats all instruments in this group as it shows values very close to 0.02% no matter what aperture we employed and what part of the frame we examined.

Spherical aberration
First photos of this chapter don't show any focus shift effect.What's more, out-of-focus circles of light you get before and behind the focus are quite similar. Both these facts allow us to say that the tested lens doesn't have any significant problems with correction of spherical aberration.
