Cons: Not very sharp wide open compared to other lenses in the same class. Light transmission is more like that of an f/1.4 lens. Aperture ring does not click, and aperture ring is very stiff/difficult to turn. Lens seems pretty heavy. Lots of aberrations. Bokeh quality is good or bad (subjective) depending on distance to subject and type of background behind the subject (lens is best used for close or medium portraits I think).
Pros: Excellent lens for close or medium portraits, bokeh quality is very good and interesting for close/medium portraits. Lens flare is very pronounced and unique, you can get rainbow rings in the flare which can look really cool. This lens produces a very unique look to the images and combined with the unique lens flare, this lens has a very artistic and specific look that is desired by many providing an artistic advantage, particularly in this day and age of \"clinical\" lenses becoming the trend. This lens can make a photographer\'s portraiture work stand-out from the rest.
Summary: Recommended to make your portraiture work stand-out from the crowd. Not recommended for day-to-day versatile shooting.
