Pros:
- shapely, lightweight, and handy casing,
- outstanding image resolution in the frame centre,
- good image resolution on the edge of the frame,
- imperceptible longitudinal chromatic aberration,
- negligible lateral chromatic aberration,
- lack of any distortion problems,
- moderate coma,
- low astigmatism,
- sensible performance against bright light,
- silent and quick autofocus,
- sensational price/performance and price/quality ratio,
- 5-year warranty.
Cons:
- significant vignetting on RAW files,
- accuracy of the autofocus leaves a bit to be desired, especially when the lens is attached to older cameras.
I was wrong and I admit it with real joy. I simply love being wrong this way. The Viltrox AF 15 mm f/1.7 Air proved to be a lens exquisitely sharp in the frame centre and it fared outstandingly well or really good in many other testing categories. It does feature two flaws but, with a price reaching almost $240, you can forgive it this, that, and much more. I don't doubt that you deal here with an instrument characterized by a sensational price/performance and price/quality ratio, an instrument you can recommend to any owner of APS-C/DX bodies produced by such companies as Fujifilm, Nikon, or Sony.
