You don’t have to be a Sherlock Holmes to figure out from our test that the Nikkor 2.8/60 is a very good instrument, which is half the price of the new Nikkor 2.8/105 VR and still provides lots of great sharp pictures. Of course, we can’t deny the Nikkor’s 2.8/105 VR advantages: the stabilization, SWM motor and the ability to work with the D40/D40x Nikons since these are all great features. But when we look at the relation between the total picture quality and the prices of the two lenses, the Nikkor’s 2.8/60 predominance is huge. Generally speaking, the lens’s results were really very good and it has a solid place on the all-time all-star 50-90 mm class lens shelf. The competition here is large and the quality battles are very fierce.
