Overall
Owner since: 1 month
Price: 300€
User profile: Amateur
Cons: - auto focus is noisy - heavy for small bodies like D3xxx
Pros: + good build quality; + very useful zoom range; + well balanced in D7xxx bodies; + good optical results + auto focus works very well in live view (in opposite to the version 12-24 II) + focus very close (reproduction ratio 1:4)
Summary: Tokina is fairly known to produce high quality wide angle lens. And this one is a good improvement of the Tokina 12-24. The lens will work between 19-28mm in a FX camera. Like always not recommended but can do the job in the transition period from DX to FX.

Cons: Good to use only on APS-C (Don't try to use it on FF even it can use from 16mm because the result will not good as when it worked on APS-C)
Pros: IQ (Whole frame sharp), very low distortion, good ghost and flare resistance, good zoom length for landscape and travelling 18-42 (on 35mm)
Summary: Good choice for landscape and travelling (ultrawide to normal zoom lens) on APS-C
