10. Autofocus

For a cheap kit lens the autofocus speed is very good. It runs through the scale in about 0.7 second. You can hear a whirr during the work but the sound is neither irritating nor bothersome.

When it comes to accuracy the lens is difficult to fault. In our tests it missed in 3% of all shots on average.

Like in the case of the Schneider- Kreuznach lens, we noted a slight frontfocus tendency. It shouldn’t be a problem when you work on a K10D because you can install the right version of firmware and correct the front or backfocus from the body level.
