9. Ghosting and flares

Looking at the pictures, presented below, you can confidently state that the Sigma accustomed us to something better in the area of work against bright light. We don’t know whether it is caused by the big number of elements and reflections from air-to-glass surfaces or by the fact that a lot of side light is caught by the huge front element, which isn’t hidden in the barrel almost at all. In any case the final effect is just average. You can also add that it becomes stronger on stopping down and the pictures taken near the maximum relative aperture look a bit better than those shown below.
