Two other lenses from that company took part in the test session dedicated to the Sony 2.8/50 and undoubtedly the 2.8/50 was the best when it came to the autofocus performance. It was relatively quick even in FULL mode. Its work wasn’t exactly noiseless as that of ultrasonic motors but the sound we heard during focusing wasn’t either loud or bothersome.

The accuracy of the autofocus would be difficult to flaw. The number of misses in studio conditions reached a low level of 6% and the lens showed no front or back focus either.
