Lenses with focal lengths of 17-35 mm from Tamron and Sigma and also the Canon L-series 17-40 mm have already fallen prey to our testers. Now, its time to take care of an instrument, belonging to the same category but from a different producer – the Tokina AF 193 AF 19-35 mm f/3.5-4.5.

This lens is quite old and Tokina is gradually removing it from its line-up. However, as its last deliveries hit our shelves you can still buy it. What would encourage us to do so? First and foremost the price – you can have it for approximately 100 $. The second important reason is that this lens is a full frame design, giving very wide angle of views on it - from 98.6 to 63.3 degrees. The third reason is a possibility to use it as a kit lens substitute on APS-C/DX class sensors, on which it will perform as a 29-56 mm lens with a 35-mm film. Three weighty reasons can certainly make this lens worth our interest and our test. Let’s get down to the facts, then.
