6. Distortion

Geometric deformations on the edge of the frame are not a problem for the equipment of this class. It’s enough to say that the distortion for all 70-200 mm zooms, tested by us so far, hasn’t exceed 0.9% at any focal length. The result of the Nikkor 70-200 VR and the summary of its competitors’ results in this category are shown in the chart below.

After attaching the lens to the converter the distortion decreases even further to an imperceptible level of 0.23%.
