The Nikkor AF-S Micro 60 mm f/2.8G ED is equipped with an ultrasonic SWM motor so its autofocus works noiselessly. It is also quite fast if you take into account its wide distance range. Running through the whole scale takes 0.8 of a second which is a decent result. If the producer had decided to implement a focus limiter the mechanism would have been much more efficient. It’s a pity Nikon didn’t make that decision.

The accuracy of the focusing mechanism was good but not outstanding. In studio conditions the lens missed in 4% of shots. We didn’t notice any significant front or back focus tendencies either.
