70–200 mm class constructions or their equivalents for smaller sensors are a group of optically very complex lenses with a big, immobile front element, not covered by anything. Such a construction is practically a perfect recipe for a disaster when it comes to damping down ghosting and flares. Even expensive and professional instruments such as the Canon EF 70–200 mm f/2.8L IS II USM have something to fear – it’s enough to glance at its performance to understand that much.

Compared to the results of the Canon the photos from Fujinon 50-140 mm look really good - you can catch some flares but they are neither intensive nor very numerous. Stacked up against many other rivals the Fujinon presents itself even better.
