Chromatic aberration

The longitudinal chromatic aberration is not a problem for the tested lens and photos below show it very clearly. At the maximum relative aperture you can still notice some slight colouring of images in front of and behind the focus but on stopping down to f/4.0 the problem becomes marginalized.

The lateral chromatic aberration can be described in similar way. The highest values we got at 140 mm focal length but even there that aberration level was very low. At shorter focal lengths the problems was practically imperceptible. A round of applause for the Fujifilm optics specialists.

Spherical aberration

The spherical aberration is not manifested as a “focus shift” effect but its slight influence can be noticed in images of defocused light points. The circle in front of the focus has a distinct rim on the edge and that behind the focus doesn’t feature that rim at all.
