The astigmatism, understood as an average difference between vertical and horizontal MTF50 function values, amounted to 5.6% - it is a low value. It is also worth noticing that the astigmatism reaches practically zero at 16 mm and becomes a bit higher in the 35-55 mm range.

Defocused light circles don’t bowl us over, especially as you deal here with a top-of-the-range lens. You can notice a lot of concentric lines, an accentuated rim and truncations connected to the mechanical vignetting. A bit too many flaws for this class of equipment.
