Lens review

Canon EF 11-24 mm f/4L USM

8 October 2015

10. Autofocus

The tested lens is equipped with an ultrasonic autofocus motor called USM so its work is practically noiseless. Also its speed should be praised – running through the whole distance scale and finding the focus takes about 0.4 of a second which is a very good result.

With such parameters of the lens the depth of field is so significant that it forgives small misses of the autofocus. Still the tested Canon didn’t want to miss at all and the number of misfocused photos in studio conditions reached 0%.

When it comes to the front or back focus tendency we didn’t notice any problems on either of bodies, used by us in the test.
