7. Coma, astigmatism and bokeh

Thumbnails below show clearly that the tested lens doesn’t have any noticeable problems with the coma correction. The images of the diode are very much alike in the centre and in the frame corner no matter what focal length you employ.

The astigmatism, understood as an average difference between horizontal and vertical MTF50 values, amounted to 12% and it is a medium result. It’s also worth mentioning that the astigmatism is the highest at both ends of the focal range and a bit lower in the middle.

Defocused circles of light look quite nice for a zoom lens. The light spread in the middle is even. Only the rim on the edge might annoy you as its intensity increases with stopping down of the aperture. At the maximum relative aperture you also can notice a significant influence of mechanical vignetting.
