Lens review

Carl Zeiss Batis 18 mm f/2.8

31 January 2017
Arkadiusz Olech

10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the Batis 2.8/18 is noiseless and very quick. Running through the whole distance scale and finding the appropriate focal point takes about 0.3 of a second, independently from lighting conditions or the direction the mechanism starts from – a round of applause!

The lens didn’t have any problems with the accuracy but it must be said that its parameters and significant depth of field helped it a bit with such good results.

The photo below shows clearly that you can’t speak about any front or back focus tendencies either.
