Pros:

  • Very solid, metal barrel,
  • Sensational image quality in the frame centre,
  • Very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,
  • Good image quality on the edge of full frame,
  • Negligible longitudinal chromatic aberration,
  • Slight lateral chromatic aberration,
  • Lack of problems with spherical aberration,
  • Practically zero distortion,
  • Moderate coma,
  • Low astigmatism,
  • Sensibly smooth out-of-focus areas,
  • Good performance against bright light.

Cons:

  • Too high vignetting on full frame.
A high build quality, breaking resolution records and almost complete lack of any flaws – could you ask for more? There’s no need to wax eloquent, the Voigtlander Apo- Lanthar 65 mm f/2 Aspherical 1:2 Macro is undoubtedly an excellent and completely recommendable lens.
