In this category none of 70-200 mm f/4.0 lenses, tested by us, was ideal. The Tokina’s performance was simply tragic; the Nikkor fared better but still its performance couldn’t be described as good or even decent.
The Tamron fares better than the Tokina and very much like the Nikkor. Flares happen often, at many combinations of apertures and focal lengths, even if the sun is outside the frame. As a result, in some cases the overexposed area occupies a significant part of your photo.
