Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 17 mm f/1.2 PRO

10. Autofocus

The autofocus of the tested lens is quiet and very quick, no matter whether you attach the Olympus to the E-M5 Mark II or to the E-PL1. Running through the whole range and confirming the focus takes less than 0.3 of a second, an excellent result.

Overall the performance of the Olympus 1.2/17, both in studio and outside, was very comfortable and pleasant – we haven’t noticed practically any problems as the lens always locked onto the relevant subject and the vast majority of photographs were sharp exactly where the photographer wanted them to be.

What’s more, there were no problems when it comes to the front or back focus tendencies.
